Directions

  1. Access patterns by selecting the info button near the main image, then select the pattern icon. Download and print patterns. Cut patterns from socks and felt as indicated on patterns.

brown bear & tan bear

  1. 1
Make 3/4” hole at center top of ball using sharp pencil. Cut side of brown or tan sock so fabric can lay flat on work surface with right side facing down. Place ball on center of fabric with hole facing up. Wrap fabric over ball; secure ends with twist tie or rubber band. Cut off excess fabric.
  2. 2
Remove twist tie; spot glue hole with white tacky glue. Using sharp point of skewer, tuck edges of sock firmly into hole. Work until all fabric is securely tucked into hole.
  3. 3
Cut four ear pieces from sock fabric. Hand-sew two pieces together, with right sides facing, using 1/4” seam. Trim fabric close to seam edges; turn ears right side out. Run bead of white tacky glue around bottom edge of ear; adhere onto head. Use pins to secure while drying. Repeat for other ear.
  4. 4
Adhere wiggle eyes and black bead (nose) on face. Let dry.
  5. 5
Cut hat from print sock. Hand-sew side edges together; turn right side out. Adhere bottom of hat on top of head using tacky glue. Adhere white felt strips around base of hat. Adhere pom-pom onto hat tip using tacky glue.
  6. 6
Cut 1-3/4”x12” strip from print sock for scarf. Wrap strip around neck area; tie into knot. Snip scarf ends to create fringe.
  7. 7
Apply pink chalk onto cheeks and ears. Repeat process to create other bear.

owl

  1. 1
Mark center of top and bottom of ball. Make 3/4” hole at center top of ball using sharp pencil. Push ball down into toe of furry white sock. Gather sock together just above hole; use twist tie to hold fabric around ball. Cut off excess fabric above twist tie.
  2. 2
Remove twist tie; spot glue hole with tacky glue. Using sharp point of skewer, tuck edges of sock firmly into hole.
  3. 3
Cut four wing shapes from sock fabric. Hand-sew two wing pieces together, with right sides facing, using 1/8” seam. Clip and turn right side out. Hand-sew open edges together. Trim edges if needed.
  4. 4
Adhere wings on sides of owl using glue gun. Let set.
  5. 5
Cut two 7/8” circles from white felt for eyes. Cut beak/eye tuft pattern from white felt. Fold beak in half at center. Cut tiny slits along top edge of eye tufts. Adhere felt eyes and beak/eye tufts on owl using tacky glue. Adhere black buttons on felt eye circles using glue gun.
  6. 6
For hat, cut two 3” circles from violet felt. Hand-sew running stitch around edges of one circle; pull thread to gather. Adhere gathered circle on top of other circle; adhere hat onto head using glue gun. Adhere feathers and flower on hat using tacky glue. Let dry.

panda

  1. 1
Mark center of top of ball. Wrap rubber band 2” below mark around ball. Draw line along edge of rubber band using pencil.
  2. 2
Cut 4”-diameter circle from white sock and 6”-diameter circle from black sock.
  3. 3
Pin white circle over top of ball for head. Apply tacky glue along drawn pencil line. Gently stretch fabric towards center of ball so 1/4” of fabric overlaps drawn pencil line. Use butter knife to tuck fabric into ball on drawn line. Repeat process to cover bottom of ball with black fabric.
  4. 4
Cut four ear pieces from black fuzzy sock. Hand-sew two ear pieces together, with right sides facing, using 1/4” seam. Trim seam close to stitched line; turn right side out. Apply tacky glue along bottom edge of each ear; press onto head. Use pins to secure while drying.
  5. 5
Cut two 3/4”-long ovals from black felt for eyes. Adhere ovals on head using tacky glue. Adhere wiggle eyes on top of ovals using tacky glue. Let dry.
